Things to Consider When Consulting with a Manufacturer
Having people that can help you make the right choice is critical when it comes to light poles. This will help you to save money on the project and achieve the best outcome. Often it warrants doing a Lighting Design or Layout and Plan to make sure your poles are the correct height put in the right locations. Vizona can produce Lighting Designs and Layout Plans which take the guess work out of the project and in turn save money.
A careful look at the specific purpose of the poles is very important when making your choice on poles. It helps to speak to the experts who have extensive experience in pole design and will make sure nothing is overlooked. Poles are becoming more multipurpose nowadays and other uses need to be considered in the planning. Poles additionally support CCTV cameras, weather monitoring equipment, communication equipment etc. The Technical Team will be happy to discuss your specific and potential requirements.
Apart from Functionality you also want to make sure your poles have street appeal, and you are not sacrificing your design objectives for functionality. Vizona has many pole styles to offer with the option to custom manufaturing to incorporate specific elements and achieve the visual look you want. Speak to the Design Team about your ideas today.
Compliance with Industry Standards
Compliance to Australian and New Zealand Standards relating to pole manufacturing is mandatory in the industry. This covers a big range of aspects from steel grade, to wind loadings, to footing sizes and material coatings. All this needs to be complied with to sign off the engineering drawings.
Life Cycle of the Product
The life cycle of the product is an important consideration when making your decision on poles as they are a big piece of infrastructure and premature replacement can be expensive. It is important to think about the material type and coating relative to the environment they will be put into.
Corrosive Resistant Finishes
All Vizona poles meet AS/NZ Standards for coating requirements however it is important to consider the location and purpose of the pole and choose the best material and coating accordingly. Aluminium can be a particularly good option for coastal areas but if this is not suited for structural reasons coded two pack epoxy coatings or highly resistant powder coat finishes can be applied to guarantee the longevity of the product.
When ordering poles make sure the manufacturer includes the cost of delivery to site. As poles mostly don’t fit the general freight category it can be a fairly substantial added cost if it not included in the budget. Wherever possible Vizona include the cost of delivery in the quotation.
Installation needs to be considered in the planning of the project as there are a varying range of items that must be organised prior to placement of poles. The logistics around installation often requires some coordination on site so this should all be discussed with the property or project manager ahead of time. The installation cost needs to be included in the overall budget as it makes up fairly big component of the project cost.
Vizona provide unique urban lighting solutions built for Australian conditions. We have adapted our product range to use materials that are resilient, long-lasting and that have a minimal carbon footprint.
